During lockdown 2020, designer Charles Longbottom challenged himself to dig out and create a 10 metre natural swimming pond. Inspired by Finland and enjoying saunas in the Swiss Alps and Italian Lakes, he soon realised the pond needed something more — an off grid sauna alongside. And so he set to work again. The design is a contemporary take on the original savusaunas — smoke sauna and an Alpine mountain timber barn.
